IS 1239 (Part 1) covers mild steel tubes suitable for general engineering, water, gas, air, steam and low-pressure fluid conveyance. Manufactured by the ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) process from hot rolled mild steel strip, these pipes are supplied in Light, Medium and Heavy classes to suit the pressure rating and service required.
